Lady Gaga - Recensione su 4 NUOVE CANZONI

Qualche giorno fa, Lady Gaga ha concesso alla rivista Rolling Stone di effettuare una sorta di recensione su ben quattro canzoni presenti nel nuovo album della superstar, Born This Way, un’ora prima della tappa del Monster Ball Tour in Atlantic City.

Sebbene i membri del management della cantante si sono affrettati a sottolineare che non sono dei remix, le tracce, a primo impatto, risultano essere comunque pulite e non soggette ad ulteriori cambiamenti e quindi sono registrazioni finali.
Judas – Secondo singolo ufficiale, è una sorta di catenaccio con tre enormi ganci, caratterizzato da una forte e martellante presenza del genere house e una parte vocale che sembra richiamare le doti di Rihanna. Gaga ha dichiarato di essersi innamorata del ragazzo sbagliato in due importanti singoli: prima in Poker Face e poi Bad Romance. Ma questa volta, sarà un po’ meno dark e drammatica. Si evidenzia una dolcezza abbastanza spumeggiante nei seguenti versi: I’m just a horny fool / baby it’s so cool / I’m still in love with Judas, baby.

Edge Of Glory – Questa canzone ha un sound pazzesco – è una ballad da un potere enorme nella quale è presente il sassofono di Clarence Clemons membro del gruppo rock E Street Band – ma a volte sembra tutto totalmente naturale quando ci si immedesima nell’ascoltarla. C’è un forte elemento di scipitezza in essa, ma è anche molto accattivante e incredibilmente orecchiabile. L’inserimento di Clemon è un tocco che amplifica lo status rock vibe anni ’80 della canzone, ma la sua performance è sorprendente e si colloca tra le migliori della sua carriera.
Scheiße – Come tutti sapete, su questa hit è stata effettuata una versione remixata, presentata ad un evento del fashion designer Thierry Mugler. La versione dell’album non ha lo stesso sound hardcore di casa europea, ma mira a riportare alle menti ricordi di successi dance degli anni ’90 come quelli di C&C Music Factory, Snap and RuPaul. L’inizio della canzone – in cui intona seccamente “I don’t speak German, but I can if you like” – è feroce e sembra contenere una lieve novità, ossia un coro che richiama vagamente Eye Of The Tiger dei Survivor.
Hair – è un’altra canzone di ispirazione e stampo Born This Way, ma è un po’ più strana: mescola il melodramma romantico presente in We Belong di Pet Benetar con l’Industrial metal tipico della Broken-Era del gruppo Nine Inch Nails. Il contenuto della canzone ci vuole far capire come l’acconciatura sia la massima espressione della propria identità che culmina con la dichiarazione trionfale di Gaga “I am my hair”. Un inno per i saloni di acconciature sparsi in tutto il mondo.
